Cancun Vacations
Cancun, once one of most untouched tropical areas in Latin America, is today one of the most visited tourist destinations in Mexico.
Cancun is located on an island and is comprised of beautiful white sandy beaches, clear waters, an abundance of coral, and a lagoon that is home to a wide variety of indigenous species. Visitors to the island enjoy the warm tropical climate of Cancun, as well as the spectacular natural scenery. A recent trend among college students has been an annual visit to Cancun during university spring breaks. These students, like most tourists, are attracted by Cancun's beautiful beaches, crystal clear waters and water activities, such as snorkeling and scuba diving. Although Cancun does have great daytime activity, it also offers fantastic nightlife as well. With countless nightclubs, discos and restaurants, Cancun will keep your nights hopping!
Cancun Vacation Attractions
- Chichen Itza
- Tulum
- Xcarat
- Cozumel
While on your Cancun Vacation there are countless activities and attraction to enjoy. Take a jeep tour or try horseback riding, ATV’s, mountain biking, hiking, and more.
Chichen Itza - This archaeological city was founded by the Maya who came led by Itzamna. They arrived in the Peninsula around the year 435-455 A.D. Chichen was occupied twice; the first occupation was from 495 to 692, and the second from 948 to 1204. The architecture of the first period is considered to be authentic Maya.
Ruins at Tulum - Tour packages are provided by several operators and originate from both Playa del Carmen and Cancun. This is a heavily visited tourist attraction in the Yucatan Peninsula. Tulum is considered to be the most beautiful of the historical Mayan sites. Tulum is perfectly poised on the fifty-foot high cliffs above the Caribbean.
Xcaret- Xcaret used to be a lagoon hidden in the jungle, but developers changed all that in 1992 by making it into what could be described as a Mayan theme park. Xcaret is a natural water park where you can dive, snorkel, float the underground river or swim with the dolphins. It is also a great place to dry off and explore some of Yucatan’s rich history. Just remember to bring drinking water and wear no sunscreen while swimming. The delicate eco-system is greatly affected by the chemicals in commercial sunscreens.
